Grants and Donations
Our community runs two
charities. SAMS itself is a registered and we also have
a youth charity
SAMaJYC 'Say Magic.'
SAMaJYC – St Albans
Masorti Jewish Youth Charity gratefully acknowledges the
support of the organisations listed below:
-
Lord Ashdown
Charitable settlement
SAMaJYC is
delighted to announce that we have received our
first grant! The grant is from the Lord Ashdown
Charitable settlement. The grant for up to £500 is
to assist in subsidising those who, for reasons of
financial hardship, would not be able to attend our
youth camps. As a community we believe that equality
of access to our activities is a central to all we
do. We are therefore most appreciative of the Lord
Ashdown Charitable settlement’s assistance to our
subsidy fund.
-
Children’s Aid
Committee
Children’s
Aid Committee SAMaJYC is delighted to announce that
we are now receiving a grant from the Children’s Aid
Committee (CAC) Charitable Fund. They have now
provided funding for a 2nd year, and this is being
used directly to support our youth activities for,
by providing for staff and premises. The SAMaJYC
Fundraising Committee would like to take this
opportunity to thank everyone whose hard work and
support have made obtaining this grant possible. At
their visit to SAMS in 2005, the CAC were
particularly impressed by the participation and
commitment of our young people and their parents.
With this continued involvement there is a chance of
further funding. We should like to take this
opportunity to thank CAC for their support.
-
Faith Communities
Capacity Building Fund (FCCBF)
Following our application to FCCBF in November
2005, they have provided us with funding to:-
-
Encourage women
in our community to attend the ‘Atid’ Adult
leadership training in community management
-
Support our under
18’s to training in youth leadership, by
undertaking the 2 year ‘Meltam’ course.
-
Provide INSET
training days for our Sunday School faith
teachers to provide cultural awareness to
children.
-
Acquire a PC and
printer to provide printed material for the
above courses and support the administration of
our organisation (including dissemination of
information about our organisation to the wider
community).
We should like
to thank FCCBF for the their support with above,
particularly for the encouragement it brings to our
women and in developing teenagers to participate in
our community development.
- Awards for All,
Big Lottery Fund
We are delighted to
announce that SAMaJYC has received a grant of ££3508
from Awards for All, the Big Lottery Fund, to fund
the professional fees of an experienced community
worker.
Our community worker
