St Albans Masorti Synagogue

How We've Grown

Since then we've grown.

We now have 285 members.

170 adults and 115 children.

We have books (so many books).

We have half a Rabbi (he’s a whole Rabbi, but we have him half the time).

We have our own scrolls.

We have regular, well attended Shabbat services on Saturday, regular, well attended cheder on Sunday morning, and regular, even better attended Youth Clubs for all our children from 7 to 16 on Sunday evenings.

Last year we had 12 Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations, a wedding, 3 baby blessings and a funeral.

Our youth activities have grown so big we have a separate organisation for them, SAMaJYC, St Albans Masorti Youth Charity.

We have a head teacher for our cheder.

We have a summer garden party (with or without summer) a Chanukah party, a communal Passover Seder and many other sell out events through the year. At Rosh Hashanah services we had 225 people.

So, now we even have an administrator.
